Kashmir will undoubtedly be part of Pakistan: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said that Kashmir will one day be free and will be a part of Pakistan as per the will and destiny of the people of the region.

He expressed this during his visit to Muzaffarabad where he paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.

The COAS interacted with notables and ex-servicemen of Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He said that Indian atrocities and growing Hindutva extremism strengthen the resolve of Kashmiris to struggle for their right to self-determination. He reiterated that Pakistan will always stand with them in their just and legitimate cause against state-sponsored oppression and repression.

Upon reaching the Jammu and Kashmir Memorial, he laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid a grand tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices of the martyrs.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir, General Asim Munir also appreciated the unwavering dedication, professionalism and combat readiness of the officers and soldiers deployed in Kashmir while facing challenging operational conditions.

He appreciated their high morale and vigilance and stressed the importance of maintaining high operational readiness to deter and counter any enemy provocation.

The COAS expressed full confidence in the combat readiness of the armed forces, and reiterated that no aggression will be responded to and stressed the resolve of the Pakistan Army to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country with full resolve.

Earlier, the Army Chief was received by Corps Commander Rawalpindi upon his arrival.
