KP govt introduces E-rickshaws to boost income

PESHAWAR: In line with the KP Science Agenda, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has developed an electric rickshaw that will change the way people transport themselves in cities.

This project aims at lessening fuel dependence, minimizing repairs and maintenance costs, and giving the driver the chance to earn close to double the income earned through traditional rickshaws.

To mention, the electric rickshaws introduced in the province are environmentally friendly, with zero emissions.

This was during a High Technology and Product Development Exhibition held at the Chief Minister’s House in the city of Peshawar. The event showcased a number of innovative projects being implemented by the provincial government.

Delegates were offered briefings on the production processes, as well as distinctive features, of the technologies that would be showcased.

The sectors that gained importance because of this exhibition include technology, healthcare, and mining, which might see new developments in areas like liquid oxygen, e-surgical instruments, e-study cards, skin substitutes, and diagnostic kits for Hepatitis B, C, HIV, and more.

Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the Chief Guest at the occasion, spoke on how biomed technologies and advanced materials have become priority areas for the provincial government.
