PESHAWAR: It has been decided by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to terminate the hiring of workers made in the Higher Education Department by the interim administration.

As per the records, a formal letter has been sent out by the Department of Higher Education to the vice chancellors, directors, and other concerned authorities of the public universities and degree-awarding institutions in the province.

The order instructs all government universities to ensure the implementation of the existing laws. The letter says that the appointments that were made during the interim government were scrutinized, and they were found to contravene the law.

It has been revealed that the issue has been carefully considered by both the Anomaly Committee and the Ministerial Committee. Moreover, opinions were sought from the Establishment Department and the Law Department to ensure legal aspects were clear before arriving at this decision.

On the basis of these reviews and legal opinions, the Higher Education Department has directed the institutions to act accordingly under the law and also file the compliance reports within the stipulated time limit.
