Lahore high court approached against permission for Basant

LAHORE: The notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Lahore for permission for Basant was challenged in the Lahore High Court.

A miscellaneous petition was filed in the Lahore High Court by Advocate Azhar Siddique, in which it was stated that the notification for permission for Basant was issued by the Deputy Commissioner Lahore on February 6, 7 and 8.

The petition pointed out that in the last few days, a girl and a young man were seriously injured due to flying kites, and incidents of flying kites have caused loss of precious lives in the past.

The petition requested the court to order the Lahore High Court to withdraw the notification issued to the Deputy Commissioner.
While requesting the Lahore High Court, it was said that the court should suspend the notification of the Deputy Commissioner until the final decision of the main petition.
