Lahore police claims significant drop in crime rate over 11 months

LAHORE: Lahore Police has claimed a substantial reduction in the city’s crime rate. According to police records, a comparative review of the first 11 months of 2024 and 2025 shows an overall 52 percent decrease in major crimes.

The report states that Rescue 15 calls dropped by 73 percent, while incidents of robbery declined by 49 percent and street crimes by 73 percent. Additionally, theft cases recorded a 30 percent decrease.

Punjab DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said the reduction in crime is the result of government support, the implementation of modern technology, and the tireless efforts of the police force.

He added that Punjab Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the police department for its improved performance and acknowledged the force’s dedication to maintaining law and order in the province.
