LAHORE: A tragedy unfolded in Lahore’s Mohlanwal area when a 23-year-old woman was shot dead hours before her wedding.
As per the details, the victim, identified as Habib’s daughter Ayesha, was allegedly shot in the head inside her house in Aziz Colony, which falls under the Sundar police station limits.
Rescue teams and law enforcement officials rushed to the spot on receiving information. Police confirmed that the body has been shifted to the morgue for post-mortem. However, no arrests have been made yet and the motive behind the murder is unclear.
Investigators are probing all possible angles, including family disputes and personal enmity. Meanwhile, another shooting incident was reported near Baloki police station in Sheikhupura where a woman was shot dead by unknown assailants.
Authorities have launched a search operation to nab the accused, but no suspect has been arrested yet. Both incidents highlight growing concerns over targeted killings and violent crimes against women. Law enforcement agencies have assured thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.
