LAHORE: Lahore district administration has closed all major entry and exit points of the city, including key motorways to stop the movement of PTI supporters ahead of the Islamabad protest call.

The Motorway Police have shut down several motorways connecting Lahore to Islamabad, Sialkot, and Multan. Dozens of containers have been placed at one of the major choke points, Babu Sabu Interchange, and a heavy police force was stationed at the location. The traffic is being diverted from Babu Sabu Chowk to Thokar Niaz Baig.

The Lahore Ring Road connecting various parts of the city was also closed to traffic. Police have also placed containers at Shahdara blocking the Ravi River bridge. Apart from that several roads at Saggian, Al-Saeed Chowk, and Sheikhupura have been closed, with traffic from Imamia Colony and Barkat Colony also blocked.

The Metrobus service in Lahore has also been completely suspended which has left many commuters stranded and struggling to find alternative transportation options.

Additionally, all bus terminals located along the blocked roads were also shut down. However, the City Traffic Officer (CTO) reported that traffic within Lahore city remains unaffected.

Moreover, due to road maintenance motorways have been closed from November 22 (Friday). The motorways which came to a halt include Islamabad to Peshawar (M-1), Islamabad to Lahore (M-2), Lahore to Abdul Hakeem (M-3), Pindi Bhattian to Multan (M-4), Hakla to Yarik (M-14), and Lahore to Sialkot (M-11).
