LAHORE: In a most tragic and disturbing incident that took place in Lahore’s Noor Park Housing Scheme, Purana Kahna, a love marriage couple was brutally murdered by unknown assailants in their own home on Tuesday.

The killers allegedly barged into the house, eventually killing the couple, who are believed to have recently tied the knot in a love marriage.

Although the identities of the two deceased are yet to be confirmed, initial reports suggest that they were possibly between the ages of 20 and 25.

Police are said to have reached the residence soon after receiving information about the crime. They were instrumental in securing the area and collecting forensic evidence, which later paved the way for a formal investigation.

Many believe that the incident is possibly linked to an “honor killing“, a dehumanizing form of killing under the guise of honor and dignity, in which a person is killed based on their immoral act.

While residents of the area expressed shock and dismay over the incident, the investigation is still ongoing and the police have vowed to bring the real culprits to justice.
