ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) on Wednesday claimed that a lion was reportedly seen in the Police Foundation Housing Society, O-9.
In a statement, IWMB confirmed that its rescue team reached the scene shortly after the report and set up coordination with Punjab Wildlife, Rescue 1122, and Police Foundation to conduct safe handling if the animal is caught.
The board stressed that public safety is its first concern and assured that all measures are being pursued under established procedures. Authorities added that attempts are being made to check the report and take appropriate measures.
People in the locality have been asked to remain vigilant until the situation clears. The IWMB said it will keep working in close coordination with concerned departments to both maintain public safety and manage the wildlife properly in case it is confirmed.
