Local holiday announced on August 31 for Bulleh Shah Urs

KASUR: The Kasur Deputy Commissioner declared a local holiday across the district on August 31, 2024 (Saturday) to make the annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah.

According to the notification, a local holiday will be observed on August 31 in the revenue limits of Kasur District on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah which will be celebrated from August 30, 2024 to September 01, 2024.

“The Officers/Officials engaged in essential duties/services will not avail the said local holiday and they will perform their duties as usual,” it stated.

The Urs of Hazrat Bulleh Shah is a major event in the region that draws devotees and admirers from across Pakistan to commemorate the life and teachings of the Sufi saint. The celebration is marked by various activities including poetry recitations, musical performances, and spiritual gatherings.

The district administration said that special arrangements are underway to facilitate devotees on the occasion amid the recent law and order situation.
