KARACHI: The Sindh government announced a holiday on the 4th of March to celebrate the annual Urs of the revered Sufi saint and poet Hazrat Sachal Sarmast.
All government and semi-government offices in the district will remain closed on the day to allow the locals to attend the spiritual events associated with the 205th Urs.
The grand celebrations of the Hazrat Sachal Sarmast Urs, which mark the 205th year of the spiritual events, are to commence from the 14th of Ramadan. Arrangements were finalized to manage the influx of visitors to the events.
The Urs is a major cultural event that brings together many spiritual enthusiasts to pay tribute to the saint’s legacy of poetry.
