ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has appointed Lieutenant General (retired) Moazzam Ejaz as Acting Vice Chancellor of NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology, Multan.

The notification issued by the Federal Education Ministry stated that “after consultation with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the ministry has designated an additional charge to Lt. Gen (r) Moazzam Ejaz, Rector, NUTECH, with immediate effect for ninety (90) days.”

The decision came after the Supreme Court’s judgment, dated 24.10.2024, ordering federal education authorities to make appointments on all vacant tenured positions in the universities under the federal government.

Earlier in July this year, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) appointed Lt Gen (r) Moazzam Ejaz as the Chairperson of the National Technology Council (NTC) for a four-year term, starting from July 29, 2024.

Notably, Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz accepted the role without a basic salary or additional benefits, except for an honorarium and allowances as specified.
