ISLAMABAD: The process of obtaining an M-Tag in Islamabad has been made extremely easy, so as to ensure full implementation before the deadline.

With less than 15 days left after the deadline extension, motorists in the federal capital are being advised to complete their M-Tag registration immediately and avoid last-minute chaos at toll plazas.

According to officials, only two basic documents are required for M-Tag registration. These include the vehicle registration card or book and the vehicle owner’s National Identity Card (CNIC).

Apart from this, no additional forms, files, or photocopies are required. The concerned authorities say that if both the documents are valid and available, the M-Tag is issued on the spot.

According to sources, the authorities have repeatedly emphasized that the process of citizens who reach the registration centers with complete documents is completed within a few minutes, while in case of missing any one of the documents, the citizens have to go back.

To make M-Tag registration more convenient, One Network has set up 15 M-Tag registration centers in Islamabad, so that citizens can get the facility near their residential areas or travel routes. According to officials, the aim of these centers is to provide M-Tag facility to maximum vehicle owners in a timely manner.

The administration says that in the absence of M-Tag, those traveling on motorways and toll roads after the deadline may face difficulties. That is why citizens have been urged to register immediately instead of waiting for the last days.

Citizens can contact the 1313 helpline for working hours, locations of centers or other information related to M-Tag. Officials have expressed the hope that timely registration will not only improve the traffic system but also avoid rush and delays at toll plazas.
