LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has appealed to the public, especially the youth, to actively participate in the good work of blood donation.
In her message on International Blood Donor Day, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she salutes every person associated with good deeds who donate blood, those who donate blood voluntarily are not the benefactors of a single individual or family, but the benefactors of the entire society.
She said that one can also register as a donor on the Safe City website or the nearest Police Khidmat Markaz, Punjab has the honor of establishing Pakistan’s first regular virtual blood bank.
She said that by calling the emergency helpline 15 and pressing the 4 button, it is possible to contact the virtual blood bank, and through the virtual blood bank, the needy patient can be connected with the donor. Maryam Nawaz Sharif added that according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the provision of safe blood is an essential part of a strong health system.
