ISLAMABAD: According to the details, the Iqbalabad to Guddu section of Motorway M-5 will be temporarily closed on June 15 and 16, according to the Central Region spokesperson.
The Central Region spokesperson said that traffic movement at Guddu and Iqbalabad interchanges will remain suspended from 9 am to 5 pm, MEPCO will carry out the work of restoring high transmission towers and power lines. Traffic from Multan to Sukkur will be diverted from Iqbalabad Interchange to N-5 National Highway.
Traffic from Sukkur to Multan will be diverted from Guddu Interchange to N-5 National Highway. Heavy traffic from Rohri Toll Plaza will not be allowed to enter the motorway during the specified hours.
The total distance of the alternative route will be about 148 km. Using the alternative route, LTVs will have to travel about 2 hours while HTVs will have to travel about 3 hours extra. Citizens should allocate at least 30 minutes extra time before departure for timely and safe travel. Motorway Police will implement a special traffic management plan for the convenience and safety of passengers. Be sure to be aware of alternative routes and traffic conditions before traveling on June 15 and 16. A spokesperson for the Central Region said that for safe travel, seek guidance from the Motorway Police Helpline 130.
