Mild 4.0 magnitude earthquake shakes parts of Karachi

KARACHI: Earthquake tremors were felt in several areas of Karachi on Saturday, causing brief panic among residents.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Tremors were reported in multiple neighborhoods including Landhi, Khurramabad, Malir, and Korangi. The epicenter of the earthquake was located about 100 kilometers south of Karachi, the seismological center said.

Authorities confirmed that no loss of life or property damage was immediately reported following the mild quake.
