QUETTA: Mobile internet data service has been suspended across Balochistan, including Quetta, due to security concerns, according to a Balochistan provincial official.
Mobile internet data service is likely to remain suspended till August 15.
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority officials, mobile internet service has been suspended indefinitely in various districts of Balochistan, including Kohlu, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Loralai, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Noshki and Harnai.
PTA said suspension is part of precautionary efforts to prevent potential security breaches and maintain public safety across the southwestern region.
According to officials, this step has been taken given possible security concerns.
Citizens say that due to the suspension of internet service, students in the province are unable to attend online classes, while people involved in freelancing and online business are facing severe problems.
Earlier, Security forces launched a targeted operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Mastung, according to a statement released by ISPR.
“On night 5/6 August 2025, terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan, targeted a Security Forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Mastung District.
“Resultantly, three brave sons of soil; Maj Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (age: 31 years; resident of: Narowal District) along with Naik Ibni Amin (age: 37 years; resident of Swabi District) and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (age: 33 years; resident of Karak District) paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.
“Major Rizwan Shaheed was a brave officer who participated in numerous counter terrorism operations and always led his troops from the front. In the ensuing sanitization of the area, four Indian sponsored terrorists were located and sent to hell.
During the operation, a blast occurred near a security forces’ vehicle. As a result of the attack, three brave soldiers embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while defending the motherland.
