WANA: At least two people were killed and 14 people, including police personnel, were injured in an explosion near a police mobile in Wana, South Waziristan.
DSP Imranullah said that a remote-controlled bomb exploded near a police mobile in the central Wana Rustam Bazaar of South Waziristan.
According to officials, two people were killed in the explosion while 14 people, including police personnel, were injured. The explosion also damaged a police mobile.
The DSP said that the bodies and the injured have been shifted to DHQ Wana, and an emergency has been imposed in the hospital.
Earlier, Security forces launched a targeted operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Mastung, according to a statement released by ISPR.
“On night 5/6 August 2025, terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan, targeted a Security Forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Mastung District.
“Resultantly, three brave sons of soil; Maj Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (age: 31 years; resident of: Narowal District) along with Naik Ibni Amin (age: 37 years; resident of Swabi District) and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (age: 33 years; resident of Karak District) paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.
During the operation, a blast occurred near a security forces’ vehicle. As a result of the attack, three brave soldiers embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while defending the motherland.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorism and ensure peace and stability in the region.
