More than one lakh driving licenses issued across Punjab in 10 days

ISLAMABAD: The process of issuing driving licenses by the traffic police in Punjab is going on at a fast pace. On the instructions of DIG Traffic Punjab, various types of licenses are being issued to citizens across the province so that illegal driving can be prevented.

According to the traffic police spokesperson, a total of more than one lakh 96 thousand driving licenses have been issued in the first ten days of this month. During this time, a large number of citizens obtained new licenses while existing licenses were also renewed.

According to the statistics, more than 68 thousand people have obtained new learner licenses. About the same number of citizens were issued regular driving licenses so that they can drive legally.

The spokesperson said that more than 57 thousand citizens have renewed their learning, regular and international licenses. In addition, lost licenses were reissued to more than 450 people.

During the same period, more than 850 citizens have also been issued international driving permits. While more than 37,000 people have benefited from licensing facilities through the online system.
