ISLAMABAD: Gwadar rights protection movement leader Maulana Hidayatur Rehman has warned that the people associated with the “Gwadar Ko Haqooq Do” could close Gwadar port for the protection of their means of livelihood.
Speaking to a big motorcycle protest rally took out in the port city of Gwadar on Wednesday, he said that the fishermen and supporters of Gwadar rights movement have not become tired and would continue their struggle to safeguard their bread and butter earning profession and would not give up their movement until complete end of illegal fishing by trawlers’ mafia in Balochistan waters.
He strongly criticised the political parties’ role and blamed that they have agreed to compromise on selling Balochistan resources just for their petty interests. However, he said that the Gwadar rights movement will not compromise on the rights of Balochistan and resist any such attempt at all levels. “We would continue against mafias and we will not give it up at any cost,” Maulana Hydait said,
He congratulated the supporters of the movement for taking out a big motorcycle rally in support of their demands and said that on Thursday a shutter-down strike would be observed at Gwadar and participants would stage sit-in at Gwadar port till acceptance of their demands.
Earlier, hundreds of motorcycles reached Gwadar from different areas of Makran including Turbat, Pasni, Ormara and Jawani who marched on the main streets of the port town, they chanted slogans against the government.
