ISLAMABAD: Those who enforce the law themselves have started violating the law. A video of a Motorway Police official vehicle speeding on the M4 motorway went viral on social media, sparking outrage among citizens.

The citizen who made the viral video, who is also said to be an active lawyer, has claimed that DIG Motorway Dar Ali Khattak was allegedly riding in the government vehicle IDP-3891, and the speed of the vehicle was reaching 140 kmph, which is much higher than the prescribed speed limit.

According to the citizen, when he made footage of overspeeding, the officers in the government vehicle tried to stop him, while an attempt was allegedly made to take action by sending 5 vehicles behind him. Sources say that the citizen who made the video was also allegedly harassed.

Social media users say that if only officers of law enforcement agencies will violate hen how can ordinary citizens be expected to abide by the law? After the incident, public circles are demanding that the Motorway Police conduct a transparent investigation into the matter and action be taken against the overspeeding and alleged harassment.
