ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Murad Saeed has resigned from the Senate seat and has sent his resignation in this regard through a letter to the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.

In the text of his resignation, Murad Saeed has taken the position that the foundation of the current parliament is fake and illegitimate and that this parliament is playing a role in insulting the mandate of the people. He said in his message that in the current political situation, the party should take tough decisions and immediately consider separating from the parliamentary system.

Murad Saeed has advised his leadership to resign en masse from the Senate as well as other legislative bodies so that a clear political message can be given regarding the public mandate. According to sources, he has suggested to the party to resign en masse from the Senate, including the national and provincial assemblies.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has confirmed Murad Saeed’s resignation from the Senate.

It should be noted that Murad Saeed was elected as a senator in 2025, but he had not yet taken oath as a senator. According to political observers, this resignation is likely to spark a new debate in domestic politics, while reactions are also expected from the opposition and government circles.

Political analysts say that this development may have an impact on parliamentary politics, while the political temperature is likely to rise further in the coming days.
