NAB Amendments case: Govt challenges SC verdict

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has challenged Supreme Court verdict against the NAB amendments, on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the government has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court under the Practice Procedure Law, in which the Federation, NAB and Chairman PTI will be included.

In the appeal, the decision against the NAB amendments has been declared null and void, and the NAB amendments have been requested to be restored.

The position taken in the application was that NAB amendments do not violate fundamental rights.

Legislation is the power of Parliament, and the decision of the Supreme Court is an encroachment on the power of Parliament.
