ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif addressed a high-level meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Gilgit-Baltistan Parliamentary Board, emphasising development, governance, and public service.

He assured party leadership and workers in Gilgit-Baltistan of full support, stating that the PML-N leadership stands united with them. He said the party has a deep understanding of the region and highlighted its development record.

Referring to infrastructure projects, Nawaz Sharif noted that significant investments, including a road project costing over Rs60 billion, have helped reduce distances and improve connectivity in the region. He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is giving special attention to Gilgit-Baltistan’s development.

The PML-N president said his party has always contributed to both development initiatives and national defence, adding that progress requires practical steps rather than slogans.

He stressed the need to restore the global standing of Pakistan’s passport and ensure that budget allocations translate into real benefits for the public instead of remaining confined to paperwork.

Nawaz Sharif said politics should focus on service and responsibility rather than positions, urging representatives to prioritise solving public issues over holding office.

He also called for equal development opportunities across all provinces, highlighting education, honesty and hard work as key drivers of national progress.

Emphasising institutional strength, he said strong institutions are essential for a stable and prosperous Pakistan, urging all stakeholders to prioritise national interests over personal gains.
