PML-N forms parliamentary board for Kashmir & GB elections 2026

ISLAMABAD: (Rizwan Abbasi): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has formed a parliamentary board for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly general elections 2026, which will be authorized to select candidates and issue party tickets.

According to a notification issued by the party, the parliamentary board established for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections includes Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif and Maryam Nawaz. In addition, Hamza Shahbaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah, Raja Farooq Haider, Shah Ghulam Qadir and Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas have also been nominated as members of the board.

Other members of the board include Amir Muqam, Maryam Aurangzeb, Anusha Rehman, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, Barjees Tahir and Pervez Rashid. According to the notification, the parliamentary board will have the authority to select candidates for the elections and issue party tickets.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has also formed a parliamentary board for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly general elections 2026. This board includes Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Asif, while Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Pervez Rashid will also be part of the board.

In addition, Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Amir Muqam, Rana Sanaullah, Maryam Aurangzeb, Anusha Rehman, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar and Barjees Tahir have also been included in the board. According to the notification, a total of 23-member parliamentary board has been formed, all members of which have been formally informed.

According to party sources, the parliamentary board will give final approval after considering the names of the election candidates in the relevant areas and will issue party tickets.
