ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Energy is consulting provincial governments with trade bodies and distribution companies to identify ways for energy savings.

The current proposal under examination recommends that shops, markets, and commercial areas should operate between 9 AM and 6 PM for a period of 1 to 2 months to achieve energy and fuel conservation.

The officials declared that the government has not yet issued any official nationwide directive for implementation. The authorities will determine load management, fuel conservation, and market timings during the upcoming week.

The public and businesses should wait for official news before they start to implement changes. The officials stated that the final verdict about load management and petrol conservation will take place next week.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented a 14-point plan which aimed to achieve economic stability through austerity measures and public relief programs while maintaining simplicity and conserving energy resources in response to regional instability.
