New oil, gas reserves found in Kohat, says OGDCL

KOHAT: Oil Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of new large oil and gas reserves in Kohat.

According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the Bragzai X-1 well will produce 3,100 barrels of crude oil per day and 81,500 million cubic feet of gas per day.

The spokesperson said that this is the third consecutive major discovery of OGDCL in the Nishpa block in the last month, with a total of 9,480 barrels of crude oil per day being produced from the recent 3 discoveries.

According to the spokesperson, this is 14.5 percent of the country’s total crude oil production, and these recent achievements are an important milestone towards national energy security.

The spokesperson said that the development of local resources will further improve the demand and supply of energy in the country.
