ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, which works under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is the competent authority to issue passports to its bona fide citizens so that they can travel abroad easily as passports are an international necessity.
A citizen, holding a valid Pakistani passport, while in a foreign country, is entitled to the protection of the diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in that country.
A passport is the only document that verifies the identity of a Pakistani citizen abroad and also realizes his right to enter and exit the country.
Pakistani citizens, who are obtaining a passport for the first time, must visit the relevant passport office or foreign mission to submit the application.
