ISLAMABAD: More than 700,000 Pakistanis have left their country in search of better job opportunities abroad in fiscal year 2024.
According to the data released by the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, 789,837 people went abroad for better job opportunities.
It said that 811,469 Pakistanis left the country in search of jobs in fiscal year 2023.
Abdul Shakoor, deputy director of the Bureau of Immigration, told the media that problems were reported in the issuance of visas from Saudi Arabia in the fiscal year 2024.
The UAE issued visas in professional categories during the said period, he added, adding that the demand for professional workers was also increasing in the US and Europe.
