Pakistan Customs foils smuggling attempt worth Rs 20 crores in Hub

HUB: In a major operation, Gwadar Customs thwarted a smuggling attempt of contraband worth more than 20 crores under the anti-smuggling campaign.

According to the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gwadar, operations were conducted in different areas of the hub with the help of FC, during which smuggled goods were recovered.

According to the details, “Chaliya” worth more than 34 million rupees was recovered from the bus from Balochistan’s hub district.

Officials said that cylinders filled with refrigerator gas, banned chemicals, and Chaliya were recovered from buses worth Rs 309.6 million.

According to the Customs spokesman, during another operation in the hub, smuggled cloth, cigarettes, plastic bags, and Chaliya worth Rs 2 crore 10 lahks, and the bus was also seized.

Officials said that during another operation in the hub, smuggled clothes, shopping bags, Chaliya, Indian gutka, and cigarettes were recovered from the bus. The total value of the smuggled goods and the bus is Rs 3 crore 76 lahks.

According to the Customs officials, Chaliya worth more than 2.27 million rupees was recovered from another bus, apart from this, smuggled chalia worth more than 1 crore was seized from the containers in the hub with a total value of 2.96 million rupees.
