ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dispatched 35 tons of emergency humanitarian relief to Myanmar in response to the recent catastrophic earthquake, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
On the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a humanitarian assistance consignment was dispatched through air cargo flight (B-757) on Tuesday.
The aid package including tents, blankets, tarpaulins, water modules, readymade food and medicines will be delivered to Myanmar authorities at Yangon airport.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry saw off the cargo flight at Islamabad International Airport.
Officers from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Myanmar in Islamabad were also present on the occasion.
