ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has shown serious concern about the gravity of the security situation within the region. In a release, the ministry denounced abuses of the principles of regional integrity and state sovereignty.
Pakistan has demanded respect for global norms and asked all sides to exercise restraint. The Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan, underscored the need to give paramount importance to dialogue and diplomacy to solve issues amicably.
The spokesperson additionally asserted that urgent action must be taken to lower tensions in the region. Pakistan remains committed to the peaceful resolution of all disputes, considering it vital for the preservation of regional peace and stability.
The FO also urged all parties to exercise restraint and patience at these critical moments. After yesterday night’s Iranian strikes in Qatar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also called on Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater on Tuesday, vowing him full support and solidarity with the Emir and people of Qatar.
The PM expressed his prayers for the security and safety of Qatari brothers and sisters and the rest of the region during the meeting with the Qatari ambassador.
He reiterated that Pakistan has always promoted dialogue and diplomacy to achieve peace in the Middle East. The PM also met the Saudi Arabian ambassador to discuss the recent developments in the region.
