ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that indirect talks between the US and Iran are ongoing through Pakistan in the form of messages.

In his statement on the social networking platform X, Ishaq Dar said that the US has shared 15 points with Iran which are being considered.

He added that Pakistan is fully committed to promoting peace and stability in the region and is making all possible diplomatic efforts for the end of tension and lasting peace and brotherly countries including Turkey and Egypt are also providing assistance.

Ishaq Dar also tagged the US and Iranian foreign ministers in his post.

Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that various countries have offered to mediate in the talks between Tehran and Washington. Many countries in the region and abroad have contacted Iran. These countries have offered to play the role of mediator in the talks between Iran and the United States. We have received requests for such talks and we have responded to them. Our position is clear that we will continue to defend ourselves. The American and Israeli talk of talks with Iran is not credible.

Esmail Baqai said in an interview that our Foreign Minister is in contact with his counterparts in neighboring countries. Pakistan is our neighbor. We have good relations with Pakistan. We believe that Pakistan has good intentions.
