KARACHI: Two ships carrying between 100 to 120 million liters of crude oil were successfully navigated from Fujairah, UAE, to Karachi, with the safe passage ensured under the protection of the Pakistan Navy.

Officials from the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) confirmed that the safe passage of these ships was ensured within the security perimeter provided by the Pakistan Navy.

The safe passage of these ships was ensured in light of recent attacks on ships in Fujairah, ensuring their safe arrival in Pakistani waters.

Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar, expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Navy for ensuring a safe passage for these ships.

He further stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sought assistance from Iran for facilitating the extraction of two ships stranded in the Persian Gulf.

Earlier, a gas oil carrier, MT Torum Damini, arrived at the Fotco Terminal in Port Qasim, while another oil tanker, MT Nave Atropos, carrying 50,000 metric tons of petrol, arrived on March 9.

A spokesperson for Port Qasim confirmed that a ship from Fujairah had already arrived at the port, and more ships are expected to ensure the smooth supply of petrol in the country.
