ISLAMABAD: As part of the railway rationalization plan, 1,967 posts within the Railway Commercial Department have been eliminated, as per a notification issued.

These positions are located in several major divisions including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta and Karachi. The posts will be considered vacant after the retirement of the existing employees.

This initiative is part of a broader drive to enhance efficiency and resource management within Pakistan Railways. By eliminating redundant positions, the organization tries to streamline its operations and allocate its resources better.

After issuing the notification, all the affected railway divisions have been directed to implement the decision. Divisional authorities have been directed to make necessary manpower adjustments as per the new policy.
