ISLAMABAD: (Rizwan Abbasi) Pakistan has strongly condemned the interception of the humanitarian aid mission “Global Sumud Flotilla” by Israeli forces in international maritime waters and termed the detention of aid workers an illegal and inhumane act.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, detained individuals include Pakistani humanitarian activist Mr. Saad Edhi. The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that targeting a humanitarian mission is a blatant violation of international law and fundamental human rights.
Pakistan has demanded the immediate release of all detained aid workers and urged Israeli authorities to ensure their treatment in accordance with human dignity and international norms.
The Foreign Office further said that Pakistani diplomatic missions in the region are continuously monitoring the situation and remain in contact with relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of any detained Pakistani nationals.
Pakistan also called upon the international community to play an immediate and effective role in protecting humanitarian missions and responding firmly to Israeli actions.
