Pakistan ready for talks with India on all outstanding issues: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan is ready to have constructive conversations with India on all outstanding issues, such as Jammu and Kashmir, water, trade, and terrorism.

These were his remarks while making a telephonic call to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister reiterated heartfelt gratitude for the Kingdom’s unwavering support to Pakistan during the ongoing tensions with India.

Both leaders also shared their perspectives on the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East. In this context, the Prime Minister added that Pakistan fully endorsed an immediate de-escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel, as well as its peaceful resolution through diplomacy and dialogue.

While referring to the attacks on the previous night, he urged all parties to abide by international law as well as the principles of the UN Charter. On this occasion, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unshakeable support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

In their most cordial and friendly conversation, the Prime Minister shared with His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his warmest regards and deepest respects.

Shehbaz Sharif also extended his warm congratulations to His Royal Highness on the successful Hajj experience this year and expressed gratitude to the Kingdom for the warm hospitality with which the Pakistani pilgrims were treated.

The Prime Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Highness for his wise stewardship and admirable work to bring peace back to the region.

He added that this is a testament to the Kingdom’s exemplary role as a peacemaker on the global level and its leadership of the Ummah.

On his behalf, the Prime Minister received the Crown Prince’s thanks for the phone call and valued Pakistan’s solidarity message and support for the Kingdom.

Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role in pushing for a peaceful end to the conflict between Iran and Israel. He stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to all efforts towards building enduring peace and stability in the Middle East
