Pakistan sights Jumada al-Awwal moon, month to start on Oct 24

ISLAMABAD: The moon for Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH has been seen in Pakistan, and the fifth Islamic month will begin on October 24, 2025.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, announced during the committee’s session on Thursday evening.

Before announcing the start of the new Islamic month, the session evaluated moon sighting claims from around the country.

Earlier, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, meetings of other zonal committees were held simultaneously in all provincial capitals, where evidence of the sighting of the moon was collected.

The final announcement regarding the sighting of the moon will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will decide in the light of the information received from the various zonal committees.
