ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains with thunderstorms in drought-prone areas of Balochistan in December.
A strong westerly wind system will enter Balochistan from December 6 to 10, and this system is predicted to continue intermittently throughout the month. The rain will end the drought in most districts of the province including Zhob, Sherani, Musakhel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Qila Saifullah, Chagai, Noshki, Washak and Mastung.
Heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected at some places while snowfall is expected in the higher areas. The weather is expected to be cold and dry in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours, while severe cold is expected in the morning and night hours in the mountainous areas.
