ISLAMABAD: A new weather system has entered different parts of the country, due to which rain and snowfall have been predicted in many cities and upper areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is continuing in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah and Pishin, while snowfall has started in high places like Kozhak Top, Sheila Bagh and Loi Band.
Rain is likely in most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from February 2 to 4, while snowfall is also expected in some mountainous areas.
Light rain is also expected in various districts of Punjab, including Murree, Galiyat, Multan, Jhang, Sargodha and Faisalabad.
Similarly, rain and snowfall have been predicted in Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Swat and Kalam. The weather in and around Islamabad is likely to remain cold and partly cloudy.
Rain is also expected to start in Abbottabad and its surrounding areas from today. Authorities have advised tourists and locals to take precautions in view of the severe cold and possible snowfall.
