Petroleum prices likely to rise from March 01

ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products are likely to increase from March 1, 2026, which will be finally approved by the government.

According to brokerage house Arif Habib Limited, the price increase could be up to Rs 6.80 per liter.

According to the proposals, the price of motor spirit (petrol) is expected to increase by Rs 5.13 per liter, after which the new price could be Rs 263.30 per liter. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel is likely to increase by Rs 6.80 per liter, after which its price could reach Rs 282.50 per liter.

According to the report, the increase in crude oil prices in the global market is likely to lead to an increase in prices at the local level as well. The price of Arab Light Crude was recorded to increase by 2.7 percent, while a slight increase in import spreads also affected the overall prices.

In the last fortnightly review, the federal government had increased the price of high-speed diesel to Rs 275.70 per liter and set the price of petrol at Rs 258.17 per liter.
