ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a ‘Ramadan Relief Package’ for deserving citizens, for which Rs 20 billion has also been allocated.
Under this special package, 4 million deserving families across the country will be given Rs 5,000 per family, while special discounts on essential items will be given, which will benefit 20 million people.
There are 3 basic conditions for registering in this program, which include a citizen being registered under the National Socio-Economic Registry, Benazir Income Support Program, not being part of any other government agency’s relief program, and being a holder of a National Identity Card.
To benefit from this program, deserving citizens can send their National Identity Card number to 9999 or 8070 via SMS. In response to the SMS, they will be informed about their eligibility for the program and other details.
In addition, citizens can register their names for this program by entering their National Identity Card number and mobile number on the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) portal.
Upon verification of eligibility, the money will be transferred to the citizens through a bank account or mobile wallet such as Easypaisa or Jeez Cash.
In addition, this cash amount can be collected from the offices of the Benazir Income Support Program.
