ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif said that the agreement between Hamas and Israel on the first phase of the Gaza peace plan is a historic opportunity to establish lasting peace in the Middle East.
Taking to social media platform X, he said that this announcement will end the genocide in Gaza.
He said that President Trump’s leadership in the entire process of talks and negotiations reflects his unwavering commitment to global peace.
The determined and wise leaders of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey should also be commended for their tireless efforts for the agreement.
“Above all, we should all pay tribute to the Palestinian people – who have suffered an unprecedented loss, which must never be repeated.
“I also note with grave concern the recent provocation at Al-Aqsa Mosque and strongly condemn it. The world must hold the occupiers and illegal settlers accountable and prevent further actions that would undermine President Trump’s strong efforts to reduce tensions and pave the way for lasting peace.”
“We will continue to work with partners, friends, and leaders of brotherly nations to ensure that peace, security, and dignity are established for the Palestinian people in accordance with their aspirations and the resolutions of the United Nations.”

On the Truth social network, Trump added: “This means that all hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw its forces to a unified line as the first step towards a strong, lasting, and lasting peace.”
The agreement, expected to be signed on Thursday, will include the release of captives and prisoners It also includes increased aid to war-torn Gaza after Tel Aviv launched a large-scale military operation following Hamas’ October 2023 attack on Israel after more than two years of genocide.
