ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to expand the federal cabinet with an additional eight more ministers, sources said on Saturday.
As per reports, senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers including Hanif Abbasi, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Talal Chaudhry, Barrister Aqeel Malik, and Sardar Yousuf are likely to be given new portfolios.
Dr Tauqir Shah, who served as principal secretary to the PM during the PDM and incumbent government, may join the cabinet. Pir Imran Shah, Saad Waseem, and Sheikh Aftab are also being considered for the cabinet members.
Sources further said that PM Shehbaz may also reshuffle some of the exisitng portfolios.
The induction of additional members into the cabinet is expected to be held next week after a letter to President Asif Ali Zardari will be written in this regard.
In May last year, the premier expanded his cabinet by inducting MNA Ali Pervaiz Malik as Minister of State for Finance, Revenue, and Power.
