Federal cabinet approves 26th constitutional amendment draft

Shehbaz Sharif seeks performance reports; cabinet reshuffle likely

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, made a historic decision today by approving the proposed draft of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

This landmark move is expected to bring development, prosperity, and improved conditions to Pakistan. The Prime Minister congratulated the nation on this achievement, emphasizing that the cabinet’s decision aligns with their oath to prioritize national development and public welfare.

The approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s constitutional stability and rule of law. Building on the country’s economic stability, achieved through diligent efforts, this decision demonstrates the cabinet’s commitment to working tirelessly for Pakistan’s development, prosperity, and stability.

The amendment enjoys the backing of coalition parties, including the Pakistan People’s Party. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to coalition party leaders, specifically acknowledging the contributions of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party; Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister of Law and Justice; Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Interior Minister; Rana Sanaullah, Adviser to Prime Minister; and Attaullah Tarar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

In addition, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to continuing his hard work for the development, prosperity, and stability of the country, fulfilling his promise to the people.
