TEHRAN: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Iran’s capital Tehran on Wednesday for a one-day-long visit.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister along with his delegation paid his respects and tribute in Iran to the Late President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, PM Shehbaz met interim President Mohammad Mokhber and offered condolences.
Iranian Minister for Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazarpash welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival at Tehran International Airport.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi are also accompanying the Prime Minister.
PM Shehbaz will also pay a visit to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei while in Iran.

The visit comes after Raisi, along with other senior officials, died after their helicopter crashed in bad weather in the mountains in East Azerbaijan province.
Earlier today, a large crowd of people attended the funeral prayers in Iran’s capital city of Tehran to bid farewell to their late Iranian president and his companions who lost their lives in a copter crash on Sunday.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, presided over the burial prayers for the late President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions.
