Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Zubair has revealed that he had secret meetings with the former Army Chief twice at the behest of Maryam Nawaz.

Speaking during a private TV program, he said, “When former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in jail, I met the former Army Chief twice upon the request of his daughter Maryam Nawaz.”

Zubair mentioned that the first meeting took place in August 2020. He admitted that he was aware of the sensitivity of the matter and did not attend the former Army Chief’s son’s wedding despite being invited, as Nawaz Sharif, his leader, was in jail. He added that it was widely believed within the party that if Imran Khan was responsible, then the former Army Chief was also accountable.
