PPP’s Agha Siraj Durrani passes away in Karachi

KARACH: Former Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani passed away in Karachi. He had been undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the past several weeks due to deteriorating health.

According to family sources, Durrani was shifted to Karachi a month ago due to deteriorating health. Despite continuous medical assistance, he could not recover and breathed his last today.

Agha Siraj Durrani had been suffering from health problems for a long time. His family had shifted him to a private hospital in Karachi when his condition became critical. Doctors continued to treat him intensively, but his health continued to deteriorate.

The news of his death has cast a shadow of grief over the entire political landscape of Sindh, where Durrani had long been an important figure.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Agha Siraj Durrani and acknowledged his extensive contributions to the political and social development of Sindh.

In his condolence message, the President paid rich tribute to Durrani’s public and political services and described him as a sincere leader who played an important role in strengthening democratic institutions in the province.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of senior PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described Agha Siraj as a sincere, loyal and principled leader who dedicated his life to public service.

Murad Ali Shah said that Agha Siraj Durrani was a sincere, loyal and principled leader of the PPP. He played an important role in strengthening the Sindh Assembly and deepening democracy in the province.

The Chief Minister further said that Agha Siraj’s political and public services will always be remembered, he said that public service was the guiding principle of his politics. He prayed for the deceased and said that Allah Almighty may elevate the ranks of the late Agha Siraj Durrani.
