RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has criticised the Indian military leadership for politically motivated statements and spreading misleading, fabricated and inflammatory propaganda ahead of elections in the Indian states of Bihar and West Bengal.

“It is noted with grave concern that five months after the Mark-e-Haq, ahead of the elections in Bihar and West Bengal, the Indian military leadership has started spreading the same misleading, fabricated and inflammatory propaganda that they do before every state election in India,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in an official statement on Wednesday.

“It is sad to see that the military leadership of a nuclear-armed country is issuing irresponsible statements under intense political pressure. The lies being fed to the Indian people and the international audience have turned the Indian military machine into a laughing stock.”

The ISPR said that any professional soldier would know that unnecessary chest-beating and unnecessary statements can start a cycle of militancy and have serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia.

“The contradictions in the Indian Army’s presser are so obvious that they should not be dignified with a response. Obviously, the Indian leadership is trying to shape history to its liking by inventing foreign, Bollywood-style scripts. It seems that the Indian Army and political leadership are unable to reconcile with the idea that they have decisively exposed their lies and falsehoods.”

The army’s media wing said that the world now recognizes India as the real face of cross-border terrorism and the epicenter of regional instability, which is inclined towards adventurism and hegemony to the detriment of its people and its neighbours.

“The Indian armed forces and its political masters must understand that the people of Pakistan and its armed forces are fully capable and determined to defend every inch of our territory with full resolve. Every aggression will be met with a swift, determined and fierce response that will be remembered for generations to come.”
