LAHORE: Ahsan Shah, the main suspect in the Amir Balaj Tipu murder case, was killed by his accomplices, here on Friday.

According to the sources, the CIA team was taking Ahsan Shah to Shadbagh for recovery when Shah’s associates opened fire on the CIA team.

After the firing, Shah was taken to the hospital in an injured condition, but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

Shah was believed to be a close friend of Balaj and was alleged to have tipped off key suspects, including Tafi Butt, about Balaj’s presence at a wedding ceremony in Chohang. On February 19, Balaj was killed by a hitman named Muzaffar Hussain. The assailant was later killed on the spot by Balaj’s bodyguards.

Amir Balaj’s father, Tipu Turkanwala, was also killed in an armed attack at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in 2010.
